ブルゴーニュの代表品種であるピノ・ノワール。温暖化の影響で北海道でも栽培が可能になりました。ぶどうが小房で、ぎゅっと詰まっているため病気にかかりやすく、育てるのが難しい品種ですが、ワインにすると複雑な味と独特なピノ・ノワールの深い味わいが楽しめます。
お魚料理やお肉料理、和食になどとも良く合います。
